New And Noted – Bon Vivant (p12)
We always love a good Italian meal, and like to head to Bontá for Chef Luca Pezzera’s traditional and authentic creations. If you prefer heartier fare, we highly recommend the Barolo braised milk-fed veal shank served with Parmesan risotto and borlotti beans ragout that’s simply bursting with flavor (with a little help from a beautifully marinated piece of tomato), and solf, silky meat. Bella!

Summer Days Are Here by Geoffrey Eu (p14)
Bontá is a restaurant that consistently flies below the culinary radar but is in the same league as some of its more high-profile peers, features traditional Italian cooking with a modern twist. Pezzera’s focus is not on inventive cuisine but on authenticity and making the best use of the high quality ingredients at hand. Pezzera’s fine-dining background may have something to do with the direction that it has taken, and it seems to have paid off – there is a growing list of regulars, the dining environment is suitably elegant and since it opened in 2007, the restaurant has established a reputation for good quality Northern Italian cuisine at relatively decent prices.
